Matthew Fitzgerald is a chartered accountant with extensive experience in the resources sector. He’s currently the Chief Financial Officer and Joint Company Secretary of ASX200 copper-gold mining company Sandfire Resources NL. Matthew has previously worked in the Assurance & Advisory division of KPMG, and held a number of senior executive and board positions in both ASX and TSX-listed resource companies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Western Australia.
Matthew enjoys keeping fit and healthy, and spending time with his family. Matthew’s daughter, Abigail, is currently in remission from Medulloblastoma.
Matt was the Team Leader for Japan 2017, team member of the Murchison Family Camping 2017, and a BrainChild Butterfly in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Professor Moira ClayDirector
Professor Moira Clay is an Adjunct Professor in the Centre for Child Health Research at The University of Western Australia.
Moira has occupied executive roles in three medical research institutes, including the Telethon Kids Institute (she was the Acting Director in 2012). She now leads her own medical research consultancy which supports institutes, universities, charities and hospitals nationwide.
Moira has been actively involved with The Pirate Ship Foundation since 2012, both as an Adventurer and an advisor on medical research strategy.
